About Krysia: Meet the Mind of Humour, Social Truth & Authenticity
Krysia Pepper is a prolific Northern writer from Morecambe Bay whose work fuses humour, heart, and social realism with a bold, modern approach to storytelling and production. A naturally collaborative and disruptive creative force, Krysia is passionate about helping television and film evolve alongside the changing landscape of independent production. Her approach combines sharp creative instinct with practical execution, bringing writers, producers, creatives, and production elements together in a way that is proactive, effective, and adaptable to the realities of modern filmmaking. She is driven by a belief that the future of television and film will be shaped by agile, emotionally authentic storytelling created through collaboration, innovation, and fresh ways of developing and producing content.

Her stories centre on complex, often overlooked female protagonists, women whose voices are rarely heard yet impossible to forget. Combining gritty realism with humour and emotional honesty, her writing explores the worlds and people often left out of mainstream narratives while remaining commercially engaging and culturally relevant.

A former child actor, Krysia trained at the Oldham Theatre Workshop before earning scholarships to the Sylvia Young Theatre School and Italia Conti. Her early career on screen soon evolved into a passion for storytelling behind the camera. She began writing original plays and scripts that went on to be performed at BAFTA and theatres across the UK.

Krysia’s talent for sharp, emotionally resonant comedy has been widely recognised. She has been longlisted for the BAFTA Rocliffe TV Comedy initiative and twice longlisted for the BBC Writersroom. Her debut novel was selected for the CBC Children’s and YA course under the mentorship of acclaimed author Catherine Johnson.

Her commissioned work includes a YA drama series about Sarah Forbes Bonetta for producer Valentine Nonyela, alongside a podcast drama exploring the rise of anti-vax movements for SoundCloud.

Krysia has collaborated with a range of writers, producers, and creatives across comedy and drama development, including comedy writer Joanna Tilley. Her sitcom Searching for Sam was shortlisted for both the David Nobbs Memorial Award and the Female Pilot Club, while other projects have attracted development interest and industry support from established production companies including Can-Can Productions, Meerkat Productions, and Made in Manchester. She has also worked with Night Train Media and Spirit Studios developing vertical drama content.

Internationally, Krysia has written five episodes for the third series of I Killed…, produced by Unified Productions and recently acquired by a major streaming platform.

A graduate of Channel 4’s prestigious mentorship programme with producer Philip Shelley and screenwriter Kitty Percy, Krysia continues to collaborate with leading creatives including BAFTA winners Steve Stamp and Charlie Swinbourne.
With a voice that is fierce, funny, emotionally intelligent, and unmistakably human, Krysia is positioning herself at the forefront of a new wave of independent British storytelling, one that values authenticity, collaboration, efficiency, and bold creative thinking in an industry that is rapidly evolving.
